Speedgoat develops and sells complete software and hardware development platforms for real-time simulation and testing. Our customers are engineers and scientists developing next generation controls, DSP and vision technologies such as for autonomous cars, electric aircrafts, robots, smart grids, power plants, smartphones and augmented reality technologies. Our solutions allow them to continuously verify and validate their designs along a complete Model-Based Design workflow using MATLAB® and Simulink®, including virtual and real physical testing.

Organization

Your job title is Project Manager R&D. You are a member of the R&D Projects team in the Technologies department, reporting to the Head of R&D Projects.

The R&D Projects team’s core responsibility is the management of complex development projects for new products and systems along the entire product development process, from requirements specification to production and sales start, while ensuring project controlling.

As a Project Manager R&D, you closely collaborate with Technologies development and product management teams, Production, Markets and Sales, but also with all other departments at Speedgoat. Coordination of external development done by our partners and suppliers is an essential task as well.

Responsibilities

You take ownership of complex product development projects. You actively contribute to the continuous evolution of the R&D Projects team.

Your core responsibilities are:

• Manage interdisciplinary cross-team development projects.
• Monitor development progress ensuring requirements, costs, timeline, and quality are met.
• Make sure that all aspects of the project are considered by using a systemic approach.
• Ensure compliance with the product development process.
• Supervise and coordinate required development tasks:
  • Electronics: motherboards, processing units, FPGA, I/O boards, power supplies, power electronics
  • Mechanics: enclosures, mechanical integration, heat dissipation, assembly optimization
  • Software in C/C++ and MATLAB®/Simulink®
  • Interfaces: connectors, cables, bus systems
  • Testing, validation, certification
• Ensure setup of internal assembly and testing, and support setup of external production.
• Support members of other teams managing their own projects.
• Create and document knowledge on project management methods and processes.
• Where required, suggest and implement changes or improvements to the product development process.
• Create and review technical documentation.

Job requirements

• University degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical education.
• Professional experience in project or product management.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in development of electronic or electric products / systems.
• Experience in industrialization of electronic products is a plus.
• Reliability and ability to take ownership, work independently and take lead of projects.
• Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to build relationships, solve problems, make decisions, and build consensus.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong entrepreneurial spirit.
