We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Scientist with expertise in water microbiology and bio-assay development to join our dynamic and friendly team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of novel instruments for the detection of bacteria in water, contributing to enhanced safety and water quality across various industries.

YOUR TASKS

• Contribute to the development of innovative technology platforms for detecting bacteria in water using bioanalytical tools and advanced monitoring techniques.

• Conduct cutting-edge research and development with a focus on water science, microbiology and biochemistry.

• Design and optimise assays, reagents and equipment for bacteria detection leveraging expertise in labelling chemistry, immunostaining and surface functionalization.

• Manage external contract research organisations.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams with a focus on innovative products and technologies developments, as well as scientific publications.

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in the targeted research fields and incorporate relevant findings into department and company strategies.

YOUR PROFILE

• Master's or PhD degree in Life Sciences, Microbiology, or related field with a focus on assay development.

• At least 2-3 years of experience in a research and development role within industry with proven track records in technology development, publications and/or intellectual property.

• Extensive hands-on experience with rapid microbiology methods such as flow cytometry, immunological methods, enzymatic assay or PCR.

• A strong technical foundation in one or more of the following areas is a plus: antibody development, molecular biology, surface chemistry or high-throughput screening.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a developed affinity for lab work.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment.

• Good oral and written skills in French and English.
