Two fully funded postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the research group of Filippo M. Rijli at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI), Basel, Switzerland.
The Rijli group is supported by funding from ERC, SNF, and Novartis Research Foundation and focuses on investigating the role of transcription and epigenetic factors in chromatin regulation during mouse craniofacial and brain circuit development, as well as human and mouse neural crest-derived cartilage regeneration and reprogramming (e.g. Science 2006, 2013, 2017; Cell Rep 2015, 2017, 2020; Nature Genetics 2021; Nature Comm 2023; more information on the group webpage).
Our projects
Two main projects are currently available. The first one focuses on studying the chromatin mechanisms underlying the reprogramming and regeneration potential and plasticity of adult human and mouse neural crest-derived nasal cartilage. The second project studies the transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of the response to spontaneous activity during the development of neurons of the highly topographic whisker-to-barrel somatosensory circuit in the mouse.
