Business Analyst

Business Analyst

Under general direction of the Manager, Manufacturer Services, the Business Analyst is responsible for data mining, analytical support, and ongoing execution of product initiatives for generic pharmaceuticals in the US market. The position is further responsible for creating and maintaining product overview reports for the Manufacturer Services Team, validating data, and assisting with the development of effective procurement processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains databases, and creates and validates queries and reports using business IT systems.
  • Distributes reports and product summaries designed for internal use according to department needs.
  • Validates master data and product coding to ensure accurate substitution and conversion of generic products on AmerisourceBergen’s proprietary sales programs
  • Provides weekly updates for product initiatives including customer and channel-level sales trends.
  • Supports inquiries and requests for data related to manufacturer fees, rebates, product pricing, product status, and new product launches.
  • Manages, maintains, and updates product sales formulary for accuracy and completeness.
  • Creates product status reports, provides relevant summaries and supporting documentation to Manufacturer Relations Team in advance of manufacturer meetings, including usage reports generated within manufacturer data portal.
  • Supports manufacturer cost negotiation process through generation and validation of unit trends and related metrics.
  • Provides reports and research on selected new-to-market generic products, including inventory levels, sales trends, product status, and unique characteristics to ensure maximum profitability.
  • Interacts with project sponsors, stakeholders and various members of the organization to ensure that specific business needs are met.
  • Completes internal ad-hoc product and manufacturer data requests as needed.
  • Writes and maintains process documentation related to business processes of the Manufacturer Services Team.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of experience and education in fields such as computer sciences, applied mathematics, economics, business administration, sales, marketing, or similar vocations.
  • Normally requires 2 - 3 years of directly related and progressively responsible experience.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
