About the role
Looking for a top-notch auto electrician that is well-versed in Installing and repairing electrical wiring, diagnosing problems with rig electrical systems, repairing damaged electrical parts, maintaining electrical components for mobile equipment.
Knowledgeable in modern rig electrical systems, have a good eye to detail, and be able to problem –solve complex electrical problems, ultimately a top-notch auto electrician that is versed in the art of using electrical schematic to troubleshoot complex electrical faults and implement final solutions in mobile plants.
What you'll be doing
- Maintain mobile equipment in good working condition by following preventive and corrective maintenance schedules according to OEM.
- Break down complex electrical information into simpler parts for team members with little or no understanding of rig system operations.
- Locate and remove defective parts for skilled adjustment, repair or replacement.
- Correct faults and maximized performance by rebuilding engine, electric and individual components.
- Turn mobile plant electric systems and components to optimize functionality and prolong life of each piece.
- Regular maintenance and addressing any engine-related electrical issues that is essential to keep the rig running smoothly.
- Perform auto electrical maintenance and repairs activities and system evaluations on mobile equipment in a safe manner
- Routine electrical wire checks and testing equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards of OEM.
- Conduct periodic mechanical and electrical instruments inspections on mobile plant system to ensure it is functioning properly at all time
- Develop solutions and rebuild equipment electrical systems, ensure good rig maintenance and repairs whenever inspection is carried out on mobile equipment.
- Read and interpret assembly electrical diagrams to determine lasting solutions to mobile plants, auto greasing systems, electromechanical equipment.
- Repair and replace faulty electrical components with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with OEM and maintaining a clean work
- Ensure company working hours and good shift timings are maintained.
- Ensure safe working conditions and good safe practices are applied at work.

Human dimension: Mobile Plant Manager
Organisational dimension: The incumbent interacts regularly with all categories of Staff in the Plant and offers professional advice on best practise to maintain mobile equipment. He also interacts regularly with the plant operators on best operating practises.
What we are looking for
Level of education/qualifications required:
- National Diploma coupled with experience in similar industry or a Higher National Diploma in Electrical engineering with at least 5 years’ experience in the industry Specific Work experience:
Technical / Functional Skills:
- Over 5-8 years’ work experience in heavy mobile plant industry
- Good working knowledge of CAT, Cummins diesel engines and equipment
- Ability to carry out faulty diagnosis on diesel engines, hydraulic and transmission systems
- Good knowledge of possible diagnostic tool (SIS, ET, Processes, etc.)
- Good knowledge of safety regulations and rules applicable in an industrial area
