PhD position in Health Economics
Prof. Dr. Armando Meier has worked, among others, on research examining how to increase vaccination uptake, the impacts of emotions on decision-making, and the long-run effects of the gender environment at school on occupational sorting and the wage gap.
You will conduct high-level scientific research towards a PhD and assist and participate in research, teaching and administrative tasks. Teaching duties may be carried out in German or English. The position will entail a performance review after 1 year after which the position can be extended to a total of 4 years.
- You are on your way to or already have an excellent MSc degree (or equivalent) in a field such as Economics, Econometrics, or Finance
- You have very good knowledge of economics and are passionate and curious about doing impactful, interdisciplinary work in the domains of health, behavioral and/or labor economics, such as on understanding the impact of cancer screening guidelines on population health and labor market outcomes
- You have a solid knowledge of econometrics and first experience with statistical programs such as STATA, R, or Python and a high willingness to attain excellent econometrics skills including on machine learning
- You are fluent in written and spoken English
