Operations Manager
AMAL Therapeutics is a Swiss-based clinical-stage biotech, developing unique therapeutic cancer vaccines. Since July 2019, the company is part of the Boehringer Ingelheim group as a distinct unit in the Discovery Research organization. The company has developed a novel peptide/protein-based immunization technology platform, called KISIMA®, with the aim of stimulating the patient’s immune system for effective anti-cancer therapy.
Position Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Manager to join our team on a 100% basis. In this position, you will be responsible for coordinating the organization’s daily operations, including company budget, compliance of activities, and procurement of outsourced activities.
Job duties include in particular:
- Forecast and track company budget, in close cooperation with internal stakeholders
- Manage procure-to-pay processes
- Coordinate reporting and planning of financial activities with Global Corporate teams
- Support the Quality Assurance Unit in maintaining internal processes’ compliance with industry and corporate regulations, including data protection
- Maintain the highest degree of efficiency in company processes and procedures
- Identify, select and monitor external GxP and non-GxP vendors
- Manage the negotiation and implementation of contractual agreements with vendors, in cooperation with appropriate Global Corporate departments
- Ensure vendors deliver products and/or services as per agreements in terms of results, quality, budget and timelines
- Report deviations/issues to internal stakeholders and propose remediation plans
- Maintain long-term relationship with preferred vendors, and act as first point of escalation
- Track and ensure proper documentation of IMPs supply to clinical sites, in close interaction with the Clinical Unit
Profile
- Proven work experience as Operations Manager or similar role, in a biotech, pharma company or contract research organization
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Familiarity with business and financial principles
- Experience in dealing with contract research organizations and contract manufacturing organizations
- Ability to work independently, while seeking and receiving information from various stakeholders
- Strong prioritization, solution-oriented and organizational skills
- High energy, used to working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, willing to work in a small team
- Proficient with MS Office programs
- Fluent in English
