Postdoctoral Position in Optoelectronic Devices

Your mission :
The Laboratory of Nanoscience for Energy Technologies (LNET) is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to develop novel light-modulated optoelectronic devices for photonic and energy-conversion applications. In particular, we are currently focusing on identifying effective photogating schemes for graphene-based systems.

Main duties and responsibilities include :
The candidate will be initially leading the design and modelling of light-modulation schemes for optoelectronic devices. She/he will also contribute to the design and realization of the necessary experimental characterization set-up. Subsequently, the candidate will be responsible for the fabrication and testing of the devices. Throughout the project the candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the supervision of both PhD candidates and Master/Bachelor level junior researchers.

Your profile :
We are looking for a candidate with a strong interest in highly inter-disciplinary and challenging projects. The ideal profile would have:

  • Strong background in solid-state device physics
  • Very good experience with optical and electrical modelling/characterization of 2D materials (graphene)
  • Good experience with micro/nanofabrication
  • Good experience with testing of optoelectronic devices
  • Knowledge of machine learning tools is a plus
  • Strong interest in energy conversion applications
  • Strong interest in inter-disciplinary research and a strong motivation to explore new research domains
  • Excellent communication and writing skills (English)
