The role holder will provide advice regarding Swiss and international corporate tax and VAT issues, take responsibility for the computation and accounting of tax related positions in the financial statements (tax accruals, effective tax rate, differed taxes, Pillar 2, etc.), coordinate the corporate tax and VAT compliance reporting of the HSBC Swiss entities, provide support on related matters such as tax risk management & reporting, monitor legislative changes in all the previous areas and support the tax team as well as other departments by providing analysis on tax related questions as SME.

What you will do:

  • Ensure that all tax related accounts in HSBC Swiss entities are properly computed and stated in the group’s financial statement.
  • In coordination with third party providers, monitor the tax compliance process for Swiss entities.
  • Support the risk framework by assessing tax risks, reporting material risks and monitoring remediation actions.
  • Work practical solutions to ensure HSBC Swiss entites comply with Swiss and international tax regulations.
  • Provide support during tax audits.

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Provide ongoing technical tax advisory and compliance support to wider finance and business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate tax compliance obligations with third party suppliers.
  • Act as a first point of contact towards tax authorities.

Leadership and teamwork

  • Work out multidisciplinary solutions with colleagues from other speciality.
  • Share experience and knowledge with team members and provide technical support.
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills.
  • Suggest improvements to existing processes.

You should apply if you have:

  • University degree in law or economics.
  • Experience in Swiss and international corporate taxation (min. 1-2 years).
  • Strong skills in tax accounting rules (IFRS, Pillar 2).
  • Knowledge in risk management and reporting.
  • Experience in Swiss tax compliance and tax audit.
  • Experience within the financial services sector.
  • Capability to work autonomously and under time pressure.
  • Proficient in English and French; German an asset.
