Junior H&S Safety Controller (100%)
In line with LafargeHolcim Group Health & Safety Strategy and taking into account country priorities:
Be the first point of contact of countries to represent Group standards, systems and processes dedicated to Health & Safety and control their performance when implemented.l Play a role of control and audit to ensure improvement plans are defined to improve the overall performance of Health & Safety in the Group.

  • Country Control & Oversight   
    • Be the first point of contact for the country Head of H&S regarding group standards, systems and processes by visiting countries regularly and check the progress of HSIP in the country.
    • Utilize a standardized protocol and methodology to review country progress against intended targets.
    • Provide after visit Reports with details on findings to the Country ExCo and to the Corporate team.
    • Maintain a standardized country progress report for each country under their control using the Group template.
    • Follow up on action closure and H&S Improvement plans.
    • Check Incident reporting & Investigate in fatalities.
    • Support countries in any Critical Incident Investigation for the region and ensure appropriate communication of learnings and that consequence management and action plans are followed up.
    • Regular review of all incidents in the country to ensure consistency with reporting requirements.
    • Experts in HFACs (group RCA methodology) and participate in on-site fatal incident reviews.

  • Country Support
    • Provide insight, challenge, support and H&S expertise to the country organisation through working with the Country Head of Health & Safety and the Country Leadership Team (who are accountable for delivering the H&S results)Anticipate the countries' needs and issuesSupport the Country Heads of H&S in ensuring the right H&S competency and mindset in their organization.

  • Training
    • Deliver training or Train the trainer sessions for Group training programs as needed (ie H&S Audit Group training, Working at Heights, Energy Isolation, RCA etc) to the Country H&S Heads in order for them to cascade it down to Country teamsMake country collaboration and share good practices on H&S

  • Additional tasks
    • Be an auditor in at least 1 to 2 audits per year outside the supported perimeterDevelop and coordinate with the Group H&S team, the succession management across the country iin liaison with OHR.Benchmark with other multinationals to maintain a world class H&S program Subject(s) matter expertCapitalize expertise on one or more subjects, (e.g. industrial hygiene, electrical safety, work at height...) by having a deep knowledge and understanding of the subject(s) and intervene to provide advice on any related questions and issues across the Group.
    • As part of the continuous improvement process, participate in the review Standards, Guidelines and Good Practices

    • Preferably degree in Health & Safety or Engineering or related field Or Candidates may be considered without certification if they commit to completing the certification as part of their development plan

    • At least 5 years' operational experience in either Health & Safety roles or in Operational roles

    Knowledge & skills
    • Any internationally recognised H&S accreditation (CIH or CSP or equivalent certification) will be seen as advantage (if the candidate does not hold such an accreditation it will be a requirement to attain such in the first year of the role).
    • Operational experience in Cement or A&C will be seen as an advantage.
    • Ability to partner with country ExCo, credibility, experience, competence & culture
    • Provide insights, support, challenge and expertise to the countries
    • Strong influencing skills and change management skills
    • Analytical skills and ability to report and data manageCommunication and networking skills
    • Managing conflicts

    Language requirements
    • Fluent in English written and spoken. Any other language skill is welcome
