In the role as Senior Industrial Designer you will design and innovate products, such as chargers, hearing aids and accessories, for best B2C & B2B user experience. Working closely with Product Management and Development teams, you will identify opportunities and design solutions that create a seamless and enjoyable experience for HI BU customers using state of the art design tools and techniques.
Your tasks
- Lead and execute hardware product design projects (chargers, hearing aids, accessories) throughout the user-centered design process, from conception to tooling and implementation
- Design 3D models of products to create outstanding user experiences, following the user-centered design process
- Innovate on the ecosystem level, ensuring seamless integration of chargers and hearing aids within the overall Sonova product portfolio and B2B/B2C user experience
- Ensure created product designs align with design principles and guidelines defined at the group level
- Design human interfaces for physical products, considering ergonomic requirements and optimizing user experience
- Create and evaluate 3D mockups with users, refining UX to meet their needs effectively
- Collaborate closely with User- and Market Insights teams to incorporate user feedback into design iterations
- Product Marketing and R&D teams to gather requirements efficiently and accurately, translating them into designs for seamless implementation by the engineering team
- Support on stakeholder management
Your profile
- University degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field of study
- 6+ years of experience in designing physical products
- Experience in international service environments
- Experienced in user centered design methodology
- Good understanding of hardware development and implementation
- Ability to deal with complexity and keep focus on time frames and deliverables
- Able to translate findings into clear guidance/requirements for engineers
- Good knowledge of CAD 3 dimensional (e.g. SolidWorks), Rendering Software (e.g. KeyShot), 2D Graphics and image editing programs (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Miro
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; German and/or other languages are an asset
