AMAL Therapeutics is a Swiss biotech developing unique therapeutic vaccines, and a distinct unit of the Discovery Research organization of the Boehringer Ingelheim group. The company has developed a novel peptide/protein-based immunization technology platform, so-called KISIMA®, with the aim of stimulating the patient’s immune system for effective anti-cancer therapy. AMAL’s lead product, ATP128, is in clinical development for metastatic colorectal cancer since July 2019.

We are seeking talented and immunology driven scientist to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of a new generation of anti-cancer vaccines.
In this position you will be responsible for planning, performing and interpreting the laboratory-based experiments to generate pre-clinical proof-of-principle and mode-of-action datasets, which are required to support the development of therapeutic vaccine candidates.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Designing and performing hands-on bench work to evaluate new cancer vaccine strategies in tumor models
- Performing a wide range of experiments from molecular biology to cellular immunology, including flow cytometry, ELISPOT, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, LUMINEX technology
- Compiling and analyzing data, writing procedures, reports, manuscripts and other protocols
Technical requirements:
- PhD or MS in immunology or related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in immunology, immuno-oncology
- Experience in in vivo experiments and ex-vivo assays (cell purification, stimulation, etc.) is mandatory
- Extensive experience in multi-parameter flow cytometry (FACS), including the ability to design, execute, analyze and interpret experiments
- In particular, skills in the functional analysis of immunity (e.g. proliferation, cytokine release, phenotyping, tumor microenvironment analysis, etc.)

- High level of technical proficiency, initiative, independent thought, and collaborative ability
- Excellent laboratory, organizational, communication and analytical skills
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Fast learner, flexible and able to handle several tasks in parallel
