The company owns, runs and operates data centres in Geneva, Gland (Vaud) and Avenches (near Bern) and has been the preferred data centre provider for multinationals and United Nations agencies.

Business Development Manager

Responsible to:

Sales Director

Location:

Geneva, Switzerland

Core responsibilities: To carry out a range of duties in the achievement of revenue targets and the corporate goals of the company.

1.

Prospecting

1.1

  • Regular prospecting of suspect opportunities within a defined market sector

1.2

Leverage business from new & established relationships

1.3

Initially be responsible for selling the full range of Safe Host products to customers

1.4

  • Prepare quotations for potential Safe Host customers

1.5

Organise, prepare and attend sales appointments with potential customers

1.6

Build and maintain a pipeline forecast with quote values over and above monthly target (as directed by the Sales Director)

2.

Lead Management

2.1

To co-ordinate and manage active hit-lists, qualifying new leads

2.2

Update current suspects, prospects and customers on company CRM system as an ongoing process

2.3

Pursue new business inquiries/quotations within the designated sector to close

2.4

Achieve monthly/annual revenue targets as set out by the Sales Manager, working in conjunction with your Sales Manager

3.

Marketing / Communication

3.1

Assist the Marketing team with the co-ordination of events and promotions

3.2

Attend events as appropriate and carry out initiatives under Marketing's direction

3.3

Demonstrate excellent communication skills and put these into action when liaising at all levels, with both internal and external customers

3.4

Liaise with the following support functions as required: Sales Administration, Pre- Sales and
Marketing

3.5

Report to the Sales Director on a weekly basis regarding pipeline forecast

3.6

Maintain personal time management data on company contact management system

4.

Continuous Development

4.1

  • Acquire necessary technical and product skills to present relevant solutions to prospective customers

4.2

Attend training programs as and when directed by the Sales Director

4.3

Implement training as appropriate throughout the sales cycle

Other Responsibilities:

4.4

  • Personal development- updating relative knowledge & skills in line with trends and developments in the field

4.5

Undertake any other ad hoc duties as deemed appropriate by the appropriate Manager / Director

Comply with Safe Host SA policies on equal opportunity and health & safety

Support the management and development of Safe Host by taking part in business planning and work in liaison with other teams

5.

Experience & Qualifications

5.1

Experience of data centre technologies and architecture

5.2

  • Experience of UPS, Generator, Cooling, Fire detection and suppression architectures

5.3

Knowledge of cabling standards and implementation

5.4

Creation of high quality business proposals in line with agreed customer needs and expectations

5.5

Minimum of 5 years' experience selling technology solutions in a B2B environment

5.6

Proven track record in closing contracts into large corporations

5.7

Established executive engagement at "C" level and experience of customer relationships at all redevelop excellent client relationship at all levels of organization

5.8

Proven ability to work well as part of an extended sales team

5.9

Proven experience selling large-scale IT solutions
5.10 Good project management, problem solving, time-management, communication and presentation skills and able to work under pressure.
5.11 Bachelor's degree - minimum
5.12 Languages: Essential - English (written & oral), French (written & oral)
Preferred - German (written & oral)
