For one of our clients, a major Private Bank, we are looking for a Cross-border Senior Manager


Your responsibilities: 

 

  • Maintain the library of cross border policies and e-learnings for Private Clients Business, including wealth management, external asset managers and finders
  • Work closely with internal and external teams involved in publishing cross border country guides and e-learnings
  • Provide cross-border advice to colleagues within Private Clients Business for new jurisdictions or multi-jurisdictional scenarios or special cases
  • Support or design operational procedures, controls and tools
  • Participate in effective management of cross border risks by identifying, evaluating and escalating risks where appropriate, and working with stakeholders to formulate robust solutions; this includes defining specifications for operational systems and controls
  • Take an active role in the development of the Bank’s policies and strategic projects (e.g. advisory, MiFiD, market access, publications / events, new business creation) to ensure impacts to and from cross-border requirements are in scope
  • Participate in enhancement projects whose main goal is to support cross border activities through continuous improvements or lessons learnt from the various reviews and monitoring activities
  • Act as the central point of contact for 2nd and 3rd lines of defense (Risk, Compliance, Audit) for any queries or initiatives impacting cross border activities

 

Collaborate with the Business Risk Monitoring & Reporting and Business Risk Managers in development of cross border control and monitoring framework and provide advice and input for the:

 

  • Conduct post travel review of Bankers cross border activity
  • Production of cross border metrics for governance forums
  • Reconciliation of cross border activities and travel data
  • Follow-up of front office staff for any cross border travel exceptions
  • Conduct review of banking pipeline for identification of cross border activity

 

Your Profile:


 

  • Solid knowledge of cross border Banking and Investment activities and products across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience in Banking and Finance industries: in a Compliance, Risk or Business function desirable
  • Strong understanding of regulatory practices and risk management through studies or experience
  • Able and willing to work within a fast-paced, pressured and demanding environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, relationship building and influencing skills and ability to effectively partner with all levels of management across numerous teams to help drive the cross border agenda
  • Demonstrated superior problem solving and decision-making skills. The candidate must be able to identify issues, seek solutions and gain (near) consensus regarding outcome
  • Excellent multitasking and adaptable to shifting priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate personal initiative, ownership and accountability
  • Flexibility and capability of engaging across diverse functions, locations and businesses
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to determine key messages from detailed data
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Accuracy, organisation and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and understand when to seek advice or guidance from peer or management. 
  • Fluent (written and oral) in French; German and English will be an advantage.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office tools.
  • Swiss domiciled.
