Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Partner Development Manager to foster strategic relationships. This role drives business growth by identifying, negotiating, and implementing impactful business development agreements. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of contract negotiation, and partner ecosystems, and thrives in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Contribute to the creation, negotiation, and closing of effective business development agreements that further the client's objectives.
- Manage partner scoping, development, and prospecting, making informed decisions regarding account priorities and resource allocation.
- Oversee budgetary needs and provide technical/business justification for project requirements.
- Allocate project resources, escalate when external factors impact execution, and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.
- Proactively resolve partner concerns (technical or business-related), developing multifaceted solutions.
- Identify and execute high-potential ecosystem initiatives, potentially including the establishment of new partnerships.
- Guide partners through complex timelines, goals, and objectives, integrating activities of multiple related projects/teams.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Legal, etc.) to align resources and strategic direction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, serving as the primary contact for your partner portfolio.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Consultative Skills: Engage in dialogue to understand stakeholder needs before analysis and recommendations.
- Contract Knowledge: Interpret legal documents and work with attorneys to ensure accurate alignment of contracts with business intent.
- Customer Conversations: Master open, closed, and leading questioning techniques to uncover underlying motivations and needs.
- Customer Research: In-depth knowledge of a given partner's organization, industry, competition, and end-customers.
- Data-Driven Analysis & Reporting: Combine technical and financial data to position the competitive value of the client's products and services.
- Industry Knowledge: Analyze and integrate industry, market, and organizational information into strategies and plans.
- Objection Handling & Negotiation: Navigate the sales process effectively, leading customers to mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Operations Management Strategy: Leverage standards-based business practices to ensure efficiency and optimal execution.
- Opportunity & Pipeline Management: Discover and manage opportunities within the sales/customer lifecycle.
- Persuasion Skills: Gain commitment using data and persuasive communication methods.
- Project/Program Management: Experience managing projects, potentially with the intent of signing deals.
- Relationship Building: Create strong collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Situational Leadership: Confidently interact with senior leaders and address project concerns/pushback with professionalism.
- Stakeholder Management Strategy: Positively influence key decision-makers within partner organizations.
