Application Reliability Engineer for Finance Systems

In this interesting position, as part of a multicultural and service-oriented IT team at our headquarters in Zurich-Altstetten, you are responsible for the entire life cycle of the bank's financial applications. In this role, you are responsible for improving business processes and supporting critical business strategies by controlling the development, implementation and maintenance of the systems. You will work with internal stakeholders, project teams and third-party providers and will be encouraged to continuously innovate and simplify.
Application Reliability Engineer for Finance Systems

  • Application owner of the bank's integrated financial applications, responsible for their design, life cycle and roadmap
  • Quality gatekeeper for design reviews and sign-off for all changes related to the applications and ensuring integration with other applications
  • Production support, performance increase and optimization
  • Involvement, support and collaboration with the owners of other business applications, project teams and other bank stakeholders who act as owners and experts in these applications
  • Participation and support of the bank's ITIL processes in relation to the applications in its possession
  • Ensuring correct performance, SLA management and reporting, including the provision of management reporting
  • Service operation manager and single point of contact for third parties

  • Several years of experience in the commercial IT area, preferably with a focus on the financial services industry
  • Several years of experience as an Application Reliability Engineer in the financial sector
  • Good knowledge of SQL databases and experience in ITIL, certification is an advantage
  • Good understanding of financial processes including payment services
  • Technical confidence for improvisational thinking in case when operating procedures do not work anymore
  • Thinking statistically, rather than procedurally, to uncloak hidden anomalies and suggest long term solutions
  • Team player and ability to work with 3rd party vendors 
  • Good communication skills and an open style to provide transparency to management
  • English writing & fluency, German is an advantage
