We are seeking applications for the following new position based in Downtown Basel (Switzerland) at one of our clients offices (multinational pharma company) as:

Change Management Lead for Activity Based Working

The change management lead will be responsible for the delivery of a series of inspirational workplace change projects for a multinational Pharma and Life Science client in Switzerland; enabling leaders and employees to embrace and adopt the new culture of being inspired, unbossed and curious. The immediate focus will be on the Headquarters campus in Basel.

Our client has started implementing Activity Based Working (ABW) a while ago, but will further expand. . In this new environment, associates are empowered to choose different types of settings for different activities throughout our day. ABW design supports this spirit of choice with collaborative settings, focused solo workstations, and everything in between: all complemented by user-friendly technologies.

The change management lead will deliver high quality workplace change experience according to the best practices and guidance established by the central change management team. They will be repsonsible for the development & delivery of a change roadmap tailored to specific requirements of headquarters business in Switzerland. The change management lead will both to lead engagement with senior business unit leadership team as well as delivering the facilitation of local workshops to ensure a successful and suatainable change is achieved.

The change management lead will functionally report to the CBRE global change management lead and have appropriate matrix reporting line in local client dedicated account team in country.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable & responsible for the delivery of oversee, manage and guide all aspects of change management for projects across Switzerland.
  • Support joint leadership team in managing the pipeline of change projects.
  • Develop a change roadmap for each workplace project in the headquarters adhering to taking account of best practice and be accountable for the delivery of the activities in the roadmap from initial engagement to project completion.
  • End-to-end Change Management scope for the Basel Campus Transformation
  • On-going alignment with Workplace Global Change Management Lead (CBRE) to ensure understanding of & adherence to the Global Novartis Workplace Transition Process (WTP) methodology, sharing all deliverables created to feed back into the methodology.
  • Facilitation of Activity Based Working (ABW) Change Management workshops & relevant other change interventions. Leverage the existing experiences & collateral; then enhancing with continual improvements based on learnings
  • Engage and coach Senior Leaders to guide them how to lead their Business units / teams through the upcoming Workplace changes in a way that enables the lasting delivery of targeted outcomes of collaboration, innovation, sustainability and cost. Collaborate with Senior Leaders to design, develop & deliver targeted change interventions to promote improved understanding of workplace changes e.g. «breakfasts with team» or «fireside chats» or similar.
  • Development of a consistent Communication Strategy development for ABW within Switzerland, fully aligned with the client communication strategy. Create the basis for a continuously harmonized communication throughout business units, change champions and associates. Establish and prepare change communication material as well as preparing change knowledge material for Business Units
  • Set up, guide and support a network of Change Champions within impacted business units, individual sites to help deliver the change in a highly personalized manner. Establish collaboration amongst and interaction between Change Champions. Goal is to enable them to fulfil their function as "role model", "enabler", "co-creator", "change expert" and "sparring partner" in the best possible way in terms of the ABW transition including the creation and publishing of ABW design principles, guidelines, regulations etc.
  • Creation of change action plans coming from ABW Change Management Workshops for Change Champions to address with clear timelines, responsibilities. Also influence for & capture concerns, risks, issues etc. that may drive incremental actions
  • Engage with global/regional People and Organisation, IT and Comms to identify strategies and risks for each of the projects.
  • Monitor and report critical risks and issues to joint leadership team.
  • Actively participate in project Steering Committee meetings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement programs, identifying and implementing cost savings and business improvement opportunities.
  • Perform additional job duties as requested.
  • Alignment with Energize for Life (EFL) co-ordinator in Switzerland, other Regional Change Leads & other related Switzerland initiatives to ensure ABW is aligned to present a simplified & aligned associate experience
  • Required: 10+ years of general work experience in a large multi-national corporation, preferably life sciences
  • Required: 5 years experience in Project / Programme Management.
  • Preferred: A minimum of 5+ years’ experience directly related to the delivery of workplace change management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) in related field.
  • Highly responsive & adaptable attitude to accommodate potentially divers & dynamic business needs.
  • Strong people focus & communication skills with the ability to influence and effectively manage varied stakeholder interests and styles in a fast-paced/dynamic organisation.
  • Skilled in leadership with the ability to articulate a vision and drive desired outcomes.
  • Digital literate with experience in harnessing technology to delivery effective change.
  • Ability to work effectively in high performing teams.
  • Regional and international development opportunities in a fast-growing company.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • Required: 10+ years of general work experience in a large multi-national corporation, preferably life sciences
  • Required: 5 years experience in Project / Programme Management.
  • Preferred: A minimum of 5+ years’ experience directly related to the delivery of workplace change management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) in related field.
  • Highly responsive & adaptable attitude to accommodate potentially divers & dynamic business needs.
  • Strong people focus & communication skills with the ability to influence and effectively manage varied stakeholder interests and styles in a fast-paced/dynamic organisation.
