The Financial Reporting Accountant position is a key position, reporting to the Accounting Manager based in Geneva.

He or she will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Accounting Manager with the review and monitoring of all key financial movements to ensure that correct and complete information is reflected in the Group financial statements
  • Preparing certain areas of the Group financial statements under IFRS, including disclosure notes
  • Keeping up with technical accounting principles to ensure that all reporting requirements are met and implemented effectively; implementing new policies and procedures when necessary
  • Analytical review of the Group balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Participating in the monthly and year-end closing of the Vitol Group companies
  • Preparing and participating in annual audits
  • Assisting in the continuous development and improvement of the Group’s processes and procedures to ensure the provision of timely and accurate financial information
  • Liaising with other team members in Geneva and internationally when needed
  • Assisting in completing ad-hoc reporting and analysis requested by senior management
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Accounting Manager
Qualifications and Experience
  • Newly Certified Accountant – Swiss CPA or equivalent
  • 5 years post certification or degree
  • 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in commodity trading
  • Excellent track record in financial reporting and IFRS standards
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Fluent in English and French
