IT Product Manager for Clinical Data Systems Product Line - Diagnostics R&D IT
Your Clinical Business Customers mission is to generate high quality scientific evidence for all our products globally through best in class clinical and technical study programs. Medical Affairs Teams bring medical value to physicians, labs and patients through medical leadership, collaboration and expertise by generating and communicating impactful clinical evidence. Products and Services will support business process from IT side in all functions collaborating under the Medical & Scientific Affairs: Clinical Operations & Data Management, Medical Affairs and Clinical Science.
In your position as Product Manager you will oversee a line of multiple IT products (informatics technology solutions or services) supporting the Diagnostics R&D business customers) within a Product / Business Domain’s mandate. The Product Manager is accountable for the end-to-end product lifecycle (i.e. from ideation through delivery and support through decommissioning) and ensuring, in partnering with relevant business customers, that the products are fit-for-purpose.
You own and manage key Information technology solutions, enabling business capabilities in the Development & Medical Affairs domain, namely Medrio, Clinical Information Warehouse, MDR, amongst other clinical data sources. You evaluate alternative informatics technologies where required and research industry best practices and emerging trends, as well as product offerings from external vendors.
In collaboration with your peers and domain lead, you lead a matrix team and you work to optimize and implement new ways of working to impact global applications and infrastructure within the scope of product responsibility.
Further main responsibilities include:
You lead a matrixed expert team (product squad) with focus to deliver and operate a fit-for-purpose IT product line and services to DIA business customers in the area of Product Development
Co-create product vision and strategy with business partners, your peers, domain lead and IT experts (e.g. business analysts and solution architects and define and shape the long-term product roadmap in conjunction with your business customer
Manage budget for products and associated activities (based on delegation of authority from the R&D Domain Head and Informatics Portfolio Committee and be responsible for application KPIs
Identify opportunities to create additional value and improve business outcomes and manage the full product lifecycle including release management
In collaboration with Business Partners, prioritize product releases considering the optimal flow of throughput from different teams/squads
Define service levels, governance and operational support for products within your portfolio and lead or coordinate technical discussions and vendor negotiations
Support Domain Lead in prioritization and strategic planning, and collaborate with Business Customers to meet the needs of the business capability supported by this product and manage Product-Back-Log including new investments, enhancements and change-requests
Preferred locations for this position are Kaiseraugst (Switzerland), Mannheim (Germany), Penzberg (Germany), Pleasanton (USA), Rotkreuz (Switzerland), Santa Clara (USA) and Tucson (USA).

Experience in working in a regulated environment and with Computer System Validation
Expert knowledge in area of [domain], paired with a broad IT background which enables not only to execute related activities, but also consult and lead others
Track record of successfully delivered IT products and/or management throughout the application lifecycle
Hands on experience in agile environments (e.g. Scrum, SAFe, DevOps etc.)
Industry recognized certifications in the relevant area a plus.
Advanced English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills
Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours and to travel for up to 20% of time including outside of home country
