Sr. Product Supply Project Leader

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assume responsibility for cross-functional ProductSupply (PS) related business- and/or technical programs, projectsand objectives with high complexity and high business impact.Lead the establishment of the overall strategic and tactical conceptincluding i.e. business case preparation and drive seamlessexecution aiming to maximize synergies and value creation for theproject and the Pharma organization
  • Plan, coordinate and lead Product Supply Pharma ExternalManufacturing (PS PH EM) related CMC project activities, includingprocess challenge and acceptance, tech transfer, processcharacterization and validation, preparation of high quality technicalsource documents for regulatory filings and health authorityinteractions. Continuously track progress of project vs timelines,and cost vs budget. Anticipate deviations and proactively work withsites and line functions to avoid or mitigate any impact on quality,timelines, and/or costs
  • Provide an interface for PS product onboarding. Participate in theoversight and development of the technical product strategy, incl.identification of economics of scale, make or buy analysis andrecommendation for production site(s
  • Establish and lead Project Teams in line with Bayer values and PSobjectives and drive end-to-end alignment and collaboration acrossinvolved functions. Set priorities for the team; coach, mentor, andmotivate team members. Provide input on performance of teamand its members if requested by line functions
  • Chair regular project team meetings, facilitate end-to end projectplanning and ensure clear expectations and responsibilities for involved functions with regards to deliverables. Maintain clear andupdated records & reporting for assigned programs and projectsand proactively communicate progress and issues
  • Assure that all project relevant GMP and businessregulations are followed, met and implemented according to localand global procedures
  • Ensure and/or drive issue and conflict resolution by findingconstructive approaches. Assure, risk assessment, mitigation,appropriate communication and escalation of issues tomanagement and in alignment with involved functions
  • For assigned programs and projects, ensure resource and budgetplanning, coverage and monitoring in support of the execution ofthe Sales Plan for the upcoming year ("StraCo Plan"), continuouslyensure adherence to agreed budget and/or justifications ofdeviations
  • Take a key role as PS PH EM representative in due diligenceteams and evaluation of complex in-licensing or acquisitionopportunities
  • Diligently assess and proactively communicate the technicalbe
    nefits and risks of the analyzed project(s) / business
    opportunities
  • Develop employees and act as coach and mentor for assignedassociates, project team members and junior project leadercolleagues

Job Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Biology, (Bio-) Chemistry, Engineering orPharmacy
  • Minimum experience of 8-10 years within technical functions of(Bio-) Pharmaceutical industry or comparable environment with atleast 6 years of leadership experiences in line functions and/ormatrix team functions
  • Profound business acumen and knowledge in (bio)pharmamanufacturing, ideally with responsibilities in areas of production,quality, technical development, manufacturing science &technology, 3rd-party management, and/or toll-manufacturingactivities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team leadership as well ascommunication and presentation skills. Experienced leader andteam player in a multi-cultural, cross-functional environment withdemonstrated record in a line- and/or matrix-function involvingstakeholder management at high management level
  • Excellent project management skills and demonstrated ability topro-actively manage highly visible and complex programs, projects,portfolio and/or pipeline on a risk based approach (PM certification is a plus)
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking as well astargetorientation with the willingness to drive decision making
  • Clear quality focused mind set and cost awareness
  • Strong knowledge in current standards and emerging trends in
  • Pharmaceutical Science and Manufacturing of Rx drug productsand medical devices incl. good knowledge of EMA, FDA, ICH andGMP guidelines
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast moving and international environment
  • Team player, task oriented and keen on working in a cross-culturalworking environment
  • Budget management experience
  • Proven ability for coaching and developing associates and teammembers within a line function or adequate experience from line function management or external company
  • Fluent in English. German, French and Spanish are an asset
