Predictive Maintenance Engineer (m/f/d) 80-100%
We can offer you the following tasks


Predictive Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and implementing maintenance strategies for turbo compressors. Your focus will be on the early detection and quantitative assessment of damage mechanisms to maximize the reliability and efficiency of the plants. This role requires close collaboration with internal technical departments and external institutes to utilize and continuously improve advanced analysis methods.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Damage Analysis in Turbo Compressors: Investigating known damage mechanisms in turbo compressors in terms of frequency and severity of damage
  • Early Detection Techniques: Developing methods for early detection and quantitative assessment of damage, based on continuously collected operational data and other information
  • Interdisciplinary Analysis Collaboration: Inolving internal departments such as thermodynamics, calculation, design, and material technology, as well as external institutes for utilizing state-of-the-art analysis methods
  • Data-Degradation Correlations: Establishing correlations between operational data analysis and actual degradation in cooperation with inspection and assembly departments
  • AI Data Analysis Development: Testing and developing appropriate data analysis methods, including artificial intelligence, in collaboration with the Digitalization department
  • Damage Visualization Techniques: Developing and testing intuitive display methods for detecting damage development in cooperation with the Digitalization department
  • ROC Algorithm Testing: Supporting pilot projects and testing algorithms in collaboration with the Remote Operation Center
  • Analysis Tool Research: Regular research on new measuring and analysis instruments to make previously unrecorded or unrecordable operational data available
  • Technical Team Exchanges: Regular exchange with corresponding development teams at other MAN-ES locations, as well as with external technical institutes


You can help us with these qualifications
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on turbo machinery
  • Fluent in English
  • Knowledge in machine design and dynamics, as well as basic control technology skills 
  • Experience in assembly/commissioning or with the operation and monitoring of turbo machinery
  • Detailed knowledge of the development of damage from initial signs to machine failure
  • Knowledge of the potential of existing and possibly extended machine monitoring
  • Knowledge in data analysis methods
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in handling large data sets
  • Knowledge in the application of artificial intelligence and data analysis methods
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge in the development of user interfaces and display methods
