As Team Leader Compound Management, you are responsible for a wide range of tasks. Many of these are routine processes that must run reliably to keep our research going. Other project-related tasks require a scientific approach and a trained chemists eye. You will work with an experienced team of four, embedded in the same group as the two HTS and the biobank teams. For your tasks you can rely on top-class equipment.
Manage the daily production of quality-controlled DMSO solution aliquots and the fulfillment of powder and solution orders for all Drug Discovery Departments
Manage ChemShop, our medicinal chemistry building block supply center
For each screening campaign, produce assay-ready plates for the HTS teams (primary, confirmation, and IC50)
In collaboration with the screening teams and computational chemists, organize the initial HTS hit expansion
Co-lead the Compound Library Committee, working closely with computational and medicinal chemists throughout the year, to drive the screening library evolution
Physically produce new screening libraries once or twice per year
Operate, maintain, and develop the teams diverse automation platforms
In close collaboration with the corporate IT team, analyze software development needs and implement them to improve services
This job requires a combination of strong people skills, management competence, advanced lab automation experience, and familiarity with medicinal chemistry needs. This is not a pure office job; candidates must enjoy to also perform hands-on lab work. We expect the ability to combine reliability and precision with efficiency.
University degree in chemistry
Several years of professional experience in industrial drug discovery or an academic screening center
Strong team management and communication skills in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
Proficiency in English; German and/or French an asset
