To support that challenge, the Engineering team is currently seeking a Regional Engineering Project Support Manager in Monthey production site in Wallis, Switzerland.
The missions across all projects managed by the Engineering team in the region: • To provide professional support to project teams in the areas of planning, estimating, and cost control. To define and spread best practice, ensure consistency of approach and report on adequacy of project controls on individual projects • To manage the regional implementation and long term sustainability of the Project Management Office (PMO) initiatives within Engineering • Drive operational excellence and help implement a culture of change promoting continuous improvement • To help project teams define and procure external resources to support project implementation in the area of project controls
Accountabilities : • To be the center of expertise in the area of project controls (defined as scheduling, schedule control, estimating and cost control across the whole life cycle of a project) in the region • To actively engage project teams to ensure consistency and professionalism of approach in these areas and to provide help and support on specific issues as appropriate • To report to the Regional Head of Engineering on the status and adequacy of project controls on individual projects • To help project teams identify the type and scale of external resources required on a project and to help manage the procurement of these resources at a local and regional level • To actively engage with the Finance function to ensure that project processes and financial processes are clearly defined and operating smoothly (including but not limited to ERP system use, charge out mechanisms, close out and capitalization etc.) • To manage the regional implementation of the PMO initiatives in Engineering and ensure the long term sustainability of the processes, working with the Global PMO team, the Regional Head of Engineering and the respective Engineering Managers • To actively work within the region and with counterparts in other regions to identify best practice and opportunities for continuous improvement • To assist in the peer review and review of capital proposals being submitted for sanction • The job holder may also manage a small team of administrative staff
The ideal candidate would come with the following background or knowledge : • Degree in Science, Technology or Engineering • > 10 years of experience in a project environment and familiarity with core elements of a Project Process • Understanding of Crop Protection organization • Awareness of Compliance (Health Safety Environment and Business) and supporting processes • Strong problem solving skills and experience, ability to apply skills in diverse functions and environments • Efficient in a VUCA environment (Volatile,Uncertain,Complex, Ambiguous) • OPEX practitioner experience • Project Management Institute PMI qualified a preference • Fluency in English and French
