An opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager MRO (maintenance, repair and operational) with the Procurement organization within ADM Europe. The location of the role is flexible. The Category Manager partners with leadership regionally and globally, the Global Category Manager, and other internal business partners to develop and execute long term Procurement strategies aligned with company vision and business goals. The Category Manager will implement strategy through market intelligence, sourcing, supplier selection, contract negotiation and supplier performance management, using ADMs 7-step sourcing process. He/she will also develop processes to ensure stakeholder engagement and data-centered decision making. He/she will prepare non-disclosure agreements, requests for quotes/proposals, negotiate global agreements and present business cases to key stakeholders specific to a category.

Responsibilities

The main duties of this role will include:

  • Partner with operations and other organizations to determine requirements and develop sourcing pipeline to drive cost reduction, improved supplier performance, demand management and reduced risk. Ensure strategies remain aligned with business goals over time
  • Apply market intelligence, internal business goals and historical spend to determine strategic opportunities
  • Lead vendor analysis integration, align with strategic initiatives by leveraging strong contract negotiations
  • Prepare and issue requests quote, proposal or information to qualified suppliers
  • Analyze responses and make data-driven recommendations
  • Act as prime negotiator with suppliers on price, terms, quality and service
  • Establish category metrics and savings targets, monitor performance, and communicate these to stakeholders. Manage supplier expectations and key performance metrics
  • Incorporate E-procurement best practices into all sourcing events
  • Develop and implement contractual framework in close cooperation with Legal and Business functions.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for suppliers to ensure maximum leverage
  • Establish robust communication plan to keep internal business partners informed of progress and benefits.
  • Develop short, mid & long term TCO targets and strategy, up to 5 years
  • Work with internal risk and compliance groups to ensure category strategies incorporate relevant laws, regulations, and risk policies
  • Act as change agent and advocate for Procurement as a value added function.
  • Develop and implement process improvements and cost savings ideas with suppliers

THE CANDIDATE

The Successful Candidate Has The Following Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Economics, Finance, or related field is required
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more purchasing categories
  • Strong Project Execution a must
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Technology adept (systems, operating platforms)
  • Experience with Jaggaer e-sourcing solutions or similar tools is a plus
  • Must be able to work at strategic level and if requested tactical (hands-on)
  • Fluent/Proficient in English is a must, and other European languages is a plus
  • Driven team player and Influencer
  • Customer solutions focused
  • Skilled in cost/benefit analysis and alternative decision making
  • Experience in Food/validated environments, bio-tech or pharmaceutical industry is a plus
