Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
As part of Global Supply Chain Management, Global Engineering is responsible for standardizing electronic and electromechanical product groups at the regional or global level. Strategic department and supplier management as well as concurrent and value engineering will further optimize costs and time to market. To supplement the Global Engineering Team, we are looking for a Supply Chain Engineer 100% (m/f/d).
In this role, your responsibilities would include:
Provide technical support to the European R&D teams of Mettler Toledo in order to leverage product and innovation expertise
Your focus will be on parts/subassemblies of machined parts category through the complete supply chain, from the design review stage to the first article inspection and release of item through the life cycle of part
Furthermore, you will interact with the suppliers on technical issues on behalf of the R&D teams and review part/assembly drawings specifications for completeness of manufacturability
With the support from the strategic category-sourcing manager, you will provide lead-time, part cost, tooling cost and resources requirements estimates to the project leader team
The participation in Project Milestone review meetings will also be a part of your tasks as the establishment and maintenance of design for manufacturability guidelines for machine parts
Last but not least you will actively participate in Procurement Market Research (PMR), vendor selection and supplier audit processes
What You Need to Succeed
You have a bachelor or master degree in Engineering and at least 3-5 years in a supply chain environment and intensive knowledge in manufacturing processes related to machine parts
You should be experienced in developing productivity metrics, experienced in communicating with R&D and suppliers would be a plus
You have strong analytical, conceptual and strategic competences and you are a strong negotiator and influencer with proven project management skills, able to deal with complex initiatives and to lead through persuasion with all levels and cultures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German with proven record of successfully presenting to all levels of a global organization
Open to travel up to 20%
