For our Group Financial Control Department in Zurich we are looking to hire a
Consolidation & Reporting Business Analyst Fixed-term for 12 months (July 20 – June 21)
GAM has embarked on a programme of work to simplify its operating architecture by consolidating multiple Finance and HCM platforms onto a single, integrated offering from WorkDay. As part of this programme GAM will be working with an experienced implementation partner to deliver the functionality.
The WorkDay platform will be used for core Financial Management, Expenses Management, Consolidation & Reporting, Planning & Forecasting and will interface with existing internal and external platforms.
Additionally the HCM platform will support our core HR function, Talent Management & Optimization, Recruitment, Learning & Development and Absence Management and Time Tracking.
As part of this programme we are looking for an experienced Corporate Business Analyst to help document and define the future target operating platform for the Consolidation & Reporting Function at GAM.
This project is a strategic priority for GAM and is expected to implement transformational change to our Global business.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Work with their implementation partner counterpart and the relevant business stakeholders to define the target operating platform for Consolidation & Reporting recognising the project scope and timelines.
Educate the Consolidation & Reporting team in Zurich in the extended Workday functional architecture.
Understand and own the GAM business / functional requirements.
Understand the third party products employed in this space and how to optimally integrate these into the target architecture.
Document the business architecture in such a way that the documentation outlives the programme.
Document the consolidation process as defined by Workday, including the process of gathering the supplementary financial information required for preparing consolidated financial statements.
Help the business and the programme document the future business operating model.
Train and impart knowledge to our internal staff (this includes working closely with various stakeholders globally to transition any future work into support)
Qualification and Requirements
5+ years Group Accounting, Consolidation and Reporting experience [Essential]
Good IFRS knowledge [Essential]
Extensive understanding of consolidation process and process of preparing consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS [Essential]
Workday and Workday Adaptive Insights experience [Desirable]
Audit experience, ideally with a big 4 audit company [Desirable]
Cognos Controller experience [Desirable]
Experience in the wider asset management sector [Desirable]
Experience in a listed company environment [Desirable]
Fluent in both spoken and written German and English
Good MS-Office know-how, especially in Excel
Must be articulate and be able to explain problems (and recommendations) from first principles.
