Nestlé Research & Development in Konolfingen near Bern / Switzerland develops for Nestlé worldwide, new products, processes and packaging concepts in the areas of Dairy and Nutrition. In addition, it also provides technical assistance to our factories. 

As a Senior Packaging Specialst, you will create, deploy and maintain standards for filling and packing lines, provide technical assistance on installation of new lines, deliver functional training to the operating factories.

A day in the life of a Senior Packaging Specialist
  • Develop standards for filling & packing machines and units according to LEAN and TPM principles and in line with Nestlé Way in Standard Manufacturing
  • Guardian of packaging equipment standards for the defined technology platform
  • Coordinate and interact with key suppliers and internal customers
  • Establish packaging machine specifications and evaluate supplier technical data and capability
  • Deliver Total Cost of Ownership evaluation and complete line design engineering
  • Identify and recommend cost improvements and source reduction opportunities
  • Support start up for new and existing packaging lines
  • Deliver technical assistance to the markets on installation of new lines as well as on reliability issues of current lines
  • Lead competence development in the field of expertise through training and/or mentoring
  • Develop a critical mass of specialists within the group including succession planning
What will make you successful
  • Graduate in Engineering, preferably in Packaging, Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial, electronic or Automation
  • Expert knowledge in the area of responsibility: product, process, system and technology
  • Recognized expert across and outside the company
  • Operational experience in Filling & Packing or machine manufacturing (minimum 10 years) with:
    • Problem solving approach
    • Project management
    • Supplier management
    • TPM and LEAN references
