Nestlé Research & Development in Konolfingen near Bern / Switzerland develops for Nestlé worldwide, new products, processes and packaging concepts in the areas of Dairy and Nutrition. In addition, it also provides technical assistance to our factories.
As a Senior Packaging Specialst, you will create, deploy and maintain standards for filling and packing lines, provide technical assistance on installation of new lines, deliver functional training to the operating factories.
A day in the life of a Senior Packaging Specialist
Develop standards for filling & packing machines and units according to LEAN and TPM principles and in line with Nestlé Way in Standard Manufacturing
Guardian of packaging equipment standards for the defined technology platform
Coordinate and interact with key suppliers and internal customers
Establish packaging machine specifications and evaluate supplier technical data and capability
Deliver Total Cost of Ownership evaluation and complete line design engineering
Identify and recommend cost improvements and source reduction opportunities
Support start up for new and existing packaging lines
Deliver technical assistance to the markets on installation of new lines as well as on reliability issues of current lines
Lead competence development in the field of expertise through training and/or mentoring
Develop a critical mass of specialists within the group including succession planning
What will make you successful
Graduate in Engineering, preferably in Packaging, Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial, electronic or Automation
Expert knowledge in the area of responsibility: product, process, system and technology
Recognized expert across and outside the company
Operational experience in Filling & Packing or machine manufacturing (minimum 10 years) with:
