Within the Gerontechnology and Rehabilitation Group, engineers, psychologists, and clinicians work together with the goal to develop technological tools to support patients with neurodegenerative disorders (Parkinson's disease, Multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease) and brain injury. We are looking for a talented PhD student to strengthen our research portfolio in the field of digital biomarkers. The goal of thesis is to use machine learning methods to analyze and predict health changes in clinical assessed data from ambient and object sensor networks (e.g., radar, inertial measurement unit, smartphones, microphone) in order to develop novel digital biomarkers for motor- and non-motor symptoms (e.g., tremor, mood, gait) of patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases.
