Our client is one of the world’s leading Swiss international machinery manufacturers with around 3’500 employees. The company occupies a leading position thanks to its long experience in the market, products of the highest quality featuring the latest technology and decades of strong economic results.

For one of its biggest production plants (600 employees) in Nové Mesto nad Metují/Czech Republic with the departments of R&D/Product Management, Order Desk/Export Management, Production (Manufacturing & Assembly), SCM, Quality, as well as Spare Parts Logistics, to reach the P&L objectives of the company we are looking for an experienced

Chief Operation Officer (COO), (Member of the Global Division Management Team)

to achieve the strategic goals of the plant and the P/L-objectives of the company.

Areas of responsibilities:

  • Leading the Operations Management Team, consisting of CTG, Production Capacity Planning (=Export Management), SCM, Production & Assembly, Quality Management, R&D, and Spare Parts Logistics
  • Responsible for Sales (not Orders received), COGS, and P&L, specific focus on COGS of machine products, cost centre expenses, and prevention of low margin sales
  • Responsible for continuous productivity improvements in manufacturing and assembling. Qualifying of the employees and documentation of the proficiency level
  • Make or Buy related continuous COGS reduction for the products and some semi-FG as internal supplier to other plants within the group
  • Responsible for employee development, training and hiring (with HR)
  • Inventory/NWC optimization
  • Escalation entry point to Sales force for all machine product lines
  • Prepares and proposes machine related strategy with the Group Executive Team
  • Responsible for investments in buildings and facilities

Your profile:

  • Minimum of 15+ years of production/sourcing/operations experience in B2B Industry (ideally machines)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in leading operation teams of similar size
  • Practical experience in lean production and change management
  • Able to create and adjust a division strategy related to his machine portfolio
  • Capable to establish and execute long-term product plans/strategies
  • Develop team & raise talents, good coaching skills
  • Sound financial KPI understanding
  • Ideally deep understanding of local culture, way of working, and language
  • Professional knowledge of the English language is imperative
  • Other languages (German) considered as an advantage

For this position an attractive package is available containing a fixed salary part and a good percentage variable part based on individual and company performance. The usual advantages such as company car, mobile phone and group insurance will be provided.
