Post-Doctoral Fellow (m/f/d) Ecological Modeling (Postdoc)

Job description:

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow on a 2-year fixed term contract in our R&D department in Stein AG where you will be given the opportunity to develop new skills while working at the cutting edge of science and innovation. Your responsibilities:

  • Efficiently conceive, plan, prioritize and execute ecological model development
  • Integrate ecological models with chemical environmental fate modelling
  • Parameterize and test models using laboratory, glasshouse and field experiments
  • Apply models to increase system understanding and improve decision making
  • Organize and implement research to challenging timelines
  • Maintain and develop state-of-the-art knowledge in environmental systems modelling
  • Apply knowledge creatively to solve problems
  • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation
  • Communicate inspirationally and regularly on research activities

Required profile:

What are we looking for:

  • A PhD in environmental sciences, biology, ecotoxicology or similar
  • Experience in ecological modelling
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data
  • Good quantitative and computing skills
  • Basic understanding of the fate and effects of chemicals in the environment (incl. soil)
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken), German would be an advantage but is not a requirement
  • Ability to interact in multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven organizational & communication skills
