CP Regulatory Manager for Africa Middle East and Turkey

Job description:

- Achieve, extend and maintain license to sell (registrations) for Syngenta products in AME & Turkey
- Provide regulatory expertise and foresight to the business
- Plan and execute regulatory activities and find innovative registration approaches within the legal regulatory framework
Accountabilities
-Elaborate the submission strategy for all new dossiers (fungicides & bio-fungicides mainly but not exclusively), check if the dossiers are completed for submission, anticipate & request any document missing, work in closed collaboration with EU/Global Regulatory. Manage for access to 3rd party AI data, provide update to the team in case of variant change, source change, etc., review the labels.
- Support country Regulatory managers in their activities related to dossier submissions for fungicides mainly but not exclusively.
- Maximum residue limits (MRL)s and Consumer Safety focal point for the whole Business Unit (AME & Turkey): by reviewing the impact of EU MRL changes for the AME portfolio according to business priorities and provide mitigation plan, lead the Import Tolerance projects for AME
- Provide regulatory expertise around MRLs and foresight to the business. Keep regulatory and business informed on regulatory changes and emerging issues which require proactive management.
- Develop a robust business unit freedom to operate (FtO) approach for the food trade impact and SYT registration, aligned to Global strategy incl. stewardship & safe use
- Provide annual plans, timelines and budget needs for all registration activities in-line with portfolio strategy/priorities. Track, review and report registration progress against targets.
- Establish a network with regulatory authorities, represent company interests and shape the local regulatory environment as defined in the Food Trade Impact strategy. Maintain close contact to local partners in order to grow and maintain expertise of national registration processes and legislations.
- Proactively manage product related issues, stewardship activities.
- Support supply chain on regulatory matters (shelf-life extensions, country of origin issues, review of inspection certificates, etc.).
- Cover regulatory aspects and the coordination of the internal PS&RA governance process.
- Accountable for regulatory compliance regarding dossier submission and preparation


Required profile:

Minimum education and critical knowledge required

  • Degree in Science or relevant technical qualification
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements in the crop protection industry; gained through direct experience in a regulatory role; or through significant technical experience
Experience required
  • Sufficient regulatory experience to be able to work autonomously
  • Capability to provide impact assessment of Global Regulations on the fungicide portfolio, in order to develop strategic & sustainable actions plans to maintain Syngenta freedom to operate
  • Demonstrated strengths in communication, self-organization and problem solving and developed negotiation/influencing skills across different cultures;
  • Excellent team working, project management and interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to details and ability to complete and deliver tasks on time;
  • Show ability to work accurately and to deliver dossiers/special tasks on time and up to Syngenta standards;
  • Very good communication in English.
