Computational Scientist, Mathematical Modeler
IT’IS, together with its partner organizations Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG), ZMT Zurich MedTech AG (ZMT), and TI Solutions AG (TI Solutions), form the Zurich43 alliance. Z43’s dedicated mission is to expand the knowledge and technology for (i) characterization, optimization, and application of the electromagnetic (EM) near-field, (ii) predictive modeling of interactions between physical agents and physiology in complex anatomies, and (iii) medical applications.
Your challenges:
- Development of novel algorithms and solutions for next-generation applications in computational physics
- Maintenance and enhancement of our high-performance simulation platforms, including numerical solvers in the fields of electrodynamics, neuronal dynamics, acoustics, and others
- Involvement in all stages of product development, from initial problem analyses to software deployment
Your strengths:
- University or technical college degree (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) in Information Technology or Computer Sciences, or equivalent knowledge
- Fascination for the design of high-quality, user-friendly, and reliable software
- Strong knowledge of C++ (STL, design patterns, multi-threading) and experience writing production-quality C++ code
- Excellent knowledge of algorithms and numerics
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the highest quality standard of work
- Self-motivation, good organizational and communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, friendly personality, and team-spirit
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, to work independently in a fast-paced setting, and to meet tight deadlines
- Commitment to effectively respond to the needs of partners and customers
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken), ability to communicate in German is a plus
