Job Summary:
As an Electrical Engineering Co-Op for Constellium Muscle Shoals, you are given a project that is directly linked to the manufacturing and production of our products. Constellium values the quality of its products as it plays a large role in fulfilling the needs of our customers.
Job Roles and Team Exposure:
The Electrical Engineering Co-Op is expected to work during the fall or spring semester in one of our manufacturing units at the Muscle Shoals, Al facility. With an assigned mentor, this role will explore a wide variety of opportunities within and outside of the facility. Their main project would involve a cross-functional team that includes the following groups:
- Electrical engineering team
- One or more of our 5 manufacturing units (Recycling, Casting, Hot Rolling, Cold Rolling & Sheet Finishing)
- Process Engineers, Managers, Supervisors, Operators & technicians
- Maintenance, Engineering, Automations, Plant wide electrical technicians
- This provides insight to several different career paths engineers can take
Responsibilities are likely to include:
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts and how it can be applied
- Ability to identify improvements/ suggestions
- Gather and analyze data
- Assist other electrical engineers with the design, assessment, and application/repair of electrical systems within the plant
- Work in team to manage a project
- Collaborate with employees and shop floor workers across various departments to gather information and develop projects
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering Degree
About Constellium Muscle Shoals, Al:
Constellium Muscle Shoals is a major aluminum sheet supplier for the packaging and automotive markets. The plant has 1,300 employees and more than 114 acres under roof, including five casting units, hot and cold rolling mills, and a slitting and finishing center. Muscle Shoals produces aluminium sheet for use in all three components of beverage cans (body stock, coated end stock, tab stock) and has the capacity to produce over 1 billion pounds per year of finished aluminium coils. The plant also produces aluminium automotive coils to be processed at our CALP line in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Muscle Shoals’ world-class recycling center is able to recycle the equivalent of 20 billion aluminum cans per year. components can be found in products for Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Lockheed Martin, NASA, and others.
