For strengthening our activities in hydrothermal biomass conversion we are looking for a
Laboratory technician
Catalytic Hydrothermal Gasification to renewable hydrogen
Your tasks
- Operate a high pressure - high temperature test rig to evaluate catalyst performance using model compounds
- Operate a test rig (Konti-C) using real waste stream, including collaboration with European partners involved up- and downstream the process chain
- Perform on-line and off-line analytics of various samples produced and draw mass balances in order to optimize process parameters to reach the project objectives
- Closely collaborate with a PSI post doc leading the catalyst development aspect of the project, to evaluate and document catalyst performance in the reaction
Your profile
You hold a BSc or MSc in chemistry or chemical engineering, with a strong background in catalyst testing or the use of pressurized continuous test rigs. A hands-on experience with high pressure equipment (e.g. Swagelok, SITEC, HIP) is a must. Experience in biomass analysis and valorization in a plus. Furthermore, you are openminded and creative and you are naturally resourceful and autonomous with good problem-solving mindset. You are a highly motivated and skilled experimentalist and possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and a good command of English (German would be an advantage).
