As a Media Relations Assistant, you will provide high quality & proactive support to the Corporate Media Relations team.
A Day in the Life of a Media Relations Assistant
- Manage the media relations hotline; take incoming calls from journalists and hand them over to the media relations person in charge
- Coordinate translations of press releases and speeches; supervise quality control of translated documents
- Send out press releases and work with the internal web team regarding timely publication of press material
- Organize press events, book venues, send out invitations and manage registrations
- Manage media visits to the HQ
- Keep the media contact list up to date
- Close collaboration with administrative assistants of executive board members
- Collate special press reviews
- Provide administrative support to the entire media relations team: organize travel arrangements as well as internal or external workshops
- Prepare media trainings in collaboration with trainer and trainees
- Manage a variety of administrative activities; exercise initiative and judgement in handling important materials / enquiries
- Support the Global Head of Corporate Media Relations: manage calendar, handle basic correspondence, and short notes
What will make you successful
- Confirmed experience as an Assistant or at least 5 years of similar experience in a comparable role with a general interest in Media Relations
- Ability to handle price sensitive and confidential information
- Strong communication & stakeholder management skills
- Flexible with proven organization skills & ability to multitasking
- Trust worthy & detail-oriented with collaborative attitudeProactive mindset and ability to evaluate and prioritize
- Ability to work in a multinational & complex environment
- Positive, service-oriented & open-minded
- Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines, excellent time management skills
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications
- Fluency in English and French; German and any other language would be a plus
