For its site of Mex, Switzerland, BOBST Mex SA is looking for its new Tooling Director.
As Tooling Director you report to the Head of Marketing of the Business Unit Services and Performance (BUSP) and you are a member of the BUSP Marketing Management Team.
This is a permanent contract with a flexible start date.
As Tooling Director you are responsible for implementing and executing the global Tooling Business Strategy for delivering business outcomes that meet or exceed expectations. This role demands a strong blend of industry knowledge, technical expertise, commercial acumen, and personal leadership.

Mission :

The director's role is to continually develop and expand Bobst's value proposition and leadership in the Tooling Industry and Marketplace. This involves seamless integration with Bobst Group Product Lines, Service Center, and Customer Center organizations worldwide to establish the necessary field organization.

Effective collaboration with various business partners, product lines, and customers is crucial. The director will maintain ongoing, close business relationships with the BUSP Sales organization, external customers including Die makers, Converters, and Brand owners.

Frequent travel is required for this position to meet suppliers, partners, and customers, understand their needs, and ensure effective collaboration with the Tooling Team and Bobst Group stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities :
  • Understand customer need, develop and implement an effective roadmap :
    • Maintain a strong connection with the markets and customers, both directly and through the BUSP Sales organizations. Understand and swiftly transform customer needs and emerging requirements into Bobst solutions.
    • Market Analysis: Regularly assess key market needs, emerging trends, and requirements for Tooling in all aspects of the Packaging Industry. Use this knowledge to evolve the Tooling Business Strategy continuously.
    • Define and execute the Tooling business roadmap, enabling the Bobst Group to meet its business growth plan in this strategic market segment in the short, mid, and long term with a close, regular and trusted business partnership working with R&D, Marketing and Sales from both BUs
  • Strategy development & execution for achieving business objectives :
    • Business Planning: From today CH70M to CHF100M by 2027, define and execute a short-term (quarterly & yearly) and long-term (3 - 5 years) business plan in line with the overall BU Services strategy. Responsible for its execution with the relevant mgmt. teams.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration: strong collaboration with our stakeholders (i.e. Cito and Boxplan as well as potential future acquisitions) in particular on product development, bundles and pricing. Agree on the annual business plan with all key Bobst Group stakeholders, and the regional market leadership team within BU Services. Ensure that all plans are deployed and allocated across all selected Routes to Market consistently and effectively to deliver success.
    • Performance Management: When material deviations in the business performance are foreseen or detected, rapidly undertake and implement corrective plans to revitalize the business to deliver to plan.
  • Extended Team Leadership & Management :
    • Collaboration: Work closely with peers and team members from the Bobst Product Lines to ensure the required focus, attention, and execution of the Tooling Business across all key Products and Services.
    • Leadership: Be recognized as a respected leader in the Packaging and Tooling Industries worldwide, effectively communicating the Bobst value proposition to all relevant external and internal stakeholders and influencers.
    • Team Management: Led a highly skilled and focused Tooling organization within Bobst, comprising Marketing & Product development.
    • Performance Monitoring: Closely monitor the business performance and drive the members of the Tooling business team to promote and sell all the Tooling Portfolio Products optimally. Effectively manage the performance of the people within the group.
    • Resource Allocation: Appropriately allocate resources to maximize team success.
    • Talent Development: Define and actively promote people development programs and initiatives to build talent.

Education and Experience :
  • University degree in business or engineering.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience with at least 5 years on a similar position
  • In depth machinery business and client service knowledge. Ideally proven track records in similar roles in the Tooling and Packaging Industries, with extensive experience in the Die Making business.
  • Proven track record of developing commercial relationships (value selling) and consistently delivering high-impact results to meet clients' needs
  • Know-how of business development with excellent track record of business growth
  • International experience in a matrix environment is a must
