Technician at the Gene Expression Core Facility (60-100%)

The School of Life Sciences of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) invites applications for a position of a technician at the Gene Expression Core Facility (GECF, http://gecf.epfl.ch). The GECF benefits from core funding to provide the local and external scientific community with a comprehensive support for the functional and quantitative analysis of genomes and transcriptomes.

• To participate in the running of core facility services, in particular NGS libraries preparation and sequencing, single-cell and spatial genomics technologies, and qPCR.
• To take part in the routine maintenances and calibration of instruments, and in stocks management.
• To participate in the training activities of the platform.
• To participate in the evaluation of new methodologies and instruments with the objective to further develop platform's services.

• The applicant should be highly motivated, rigorous yet flexible, reliable, well organized and have a pronounced taste for working as a team player in a service-oriented context.
• Trained as lab technician (CFC or equivalent) with experience in molecular biology. Bachelor or master level biologists will also be considered, but not PhDs.
• Basic knowledge or experience in next-generation sequencing, qPCR or automated platforms (Hamilton, SPT) will be considered a plus.
