Patient Engagement Manager, Oncology

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The individual will work closely with Head of Patient Partnership & Engagement to drive innovative, efficient and effective patient-focused activities across the entire Oncology portfolio at Bayer.

Major tasks

  • Develops patient engagement strategy for key Oncology brands
  • Works closely with Head Patient Partnership & Engagement to implement activities and ensure plans are successful executed, learnings are applied and budgets are effectively managed
  • Develops strong relationships with cancer patient groups and patients/caregivers to establish a sound understanding of their needs and build productive partnerships
  • Influences cross-functional plans to ensure patient needs and patient voice is considered and is well represented across the drug development process
  • Manages the Oncology Patient Engagement Network for cross-functional and global-local alignment and coordination.
  • Conducts patient group mapping in priority tumor types
  • Plans patient activities for key awareness days
  • Strives for continuous process optimization, synergies and innovation

WHO YOU ARE

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare innovation or other healthcare/scientific disciplines strongly preferred.
  • Project management experience and effective English writing skills are essential
  • Previous experience in conducting patient-focused research and knowledge in behavioral health, human-centered design, qualitative market research, and ethnography is a plus.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to identify and drive creative/innovative concepts to tackle large issues and opportunities.
  • Comfort and skill in working in undefined, ambiguous environments
  • Compassionate and empathetic towards the needs and pains of patients
  • Strong networking capabilities to maneuver within the matrix organization between global and country functions while winning trust of various interfacing functions and internal collaborators.
  • Team spirit, good communication, and constructive facilitation and presentation skills
