Senior Royalty Investment Manager (80-100%)

We are seeking an experienced Royalty Investment Manager. In this position, you will lead all aspects of royalty investment transactions for the PG3 Royalties Opportunities Fund on a worldwide basis; including: origination, structuring, negotiation, execution, and ongoing management of direct royalty co-investments and leads as well as third party fund investments. When necessary, other responsibilities may include initiating and conducting research projects, drafting and producing marketing material.

You will work alongside seasoned industry professionals yet, our investment team operates on a flat hierarchical basis and you will be expected to take part in all discussions relating to new investment products and strategies. Portfolio administration and monitoring is a substantive part of the job where you are expected to be an inquisitive and proactive self-starter, taking responsibility for the tasks at hand.

The PG3 Royalties Opportunities Fund is a newly established proprietary fund managed by PG3 AG that is focused on all types of real assets royalty and streaming opportunities; including: intellectual property (primarily pharma and music) and natural resources (predominantly mining). The fund will mostly invest in niche third party funds but, opportunistically, it may also look at co-investments and direct investments.

 

 

Your Challenge

Portfolio Management

  • Developing royalty investment deal flows and lead the construction of PG3 Royalty Opportunities Fund portfolio (inclusive of relative value assessment and fund selection)
  • Leading quantitative and qualitative analysis on prospective royalty investments; encompassing: financial modeling, industry research, and operational analysis
  • Working with deal teams on developing investment structures and producing investment recommendations, as well as supervising junior and external resources during the process
  • Working with internal and external counterparties on negotiating relevant legal agreements and support documents
  • Conducting various tasks related to product reporting, monitoring investments, market research, internal requests, and conducting marketing with current and potential investors
  • Coaching and motivating team members
  • Undertaking various ad hoc projects and administrative tasks, as necessary

 

Coordination, Administration and Monitoring

  • Daily contact with our service providers (e.g. banks, administrators, asset managers, and professional investors)
  • Handling complex processes (e.g. fund setup and investments) as well as execution of all tasks and processes over the life-cycle of an investment
  • Executing transactions (subscriptions, trades), managing and controlling (prices, fees, etc.) as well as an independent follow-ups, if necessary
  • Reviewing and monitoring existing portfolios, including projects to improve various aspects of the portfolio management
  • Independent solution-oriented analysis of portfolio characteristics (i.e. checking liquidity profiles, checking FX exposure on a look through basis, etc.)
  • Interacting with internal and external resources to improve quality and expeditiousness of reporting
  • Following-up on investor requests (such as special ad-hoc analysis, etc.)

 

 

Your Profile

  • Banking apprenticeship with higher education or a University degree
  • Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience in a progressive organization
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, experience in fund management and/or private banking, and/or family office operations
  • Experience in performing due diligence on privately held companies
  • Royalty investment experience is a must
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with proven negotiation skills
  • Languages: English and German, additional language(s) is a plus
  • Committed to achieve ambitious goals, with flexible and reliable personality
  • Above all, you really like to pay attention to details and are deeply motivated to deliver a quality output in a demanding, yet highly professional, environment
