Operating in 39 countries throughout Europe, North America, Asia and the Pacific, Lagardère Travel Retail is a world leader in Travel Retail. It operates 4,700 stores across the world, including a presence at over 130 airports and 700 stations. It runs the largest international network of duty free and luxury, travel essentials and foodservice stores.


In Geneva, the network includes 7 duty free shops and one fashion store. On 1st October 2019, we have open a new duty free store downtown for diplomats. Only diplomats holding a specific legitimation card, delegates i.e. diplomats travelling for a conference and their family members can buy duty free there.


This store is the only diplomatic duty free store in Switzerland. Customers have to abide by the customs regulations that determine the conditions of duty free purchases.


 


The person we are looking for is an excellent communicator and is passionate about business development. He/She has a proven track record working in an international organization or permanent mission and wants to take up a big challenge. He/She will set up and manage the PR & Communication strategy for the store.

Responsibility Statement


 


The primary roles of the PR Manager are to:





    • Design a strong communication plan to attract new customers and drive footfall in store



    • Promote the brand “Aelia Duty Free Diplomatic” among the diplomatic community



    • Liaise with international organisations, permanent missions to the United Officer in Geneva, consulates, embassies and conference centers to raise awareness about the diplomatic duty free store offer



    • Foster diplomatic community relations and organise events in collaboration with brand partners



    • Understand customers’ needs and recommend offer optimisation, bespoke marketing campaigns and promotions to drive growth




 


 


Key Responsibilities


Commercial development





    • Help optimize and strengthen the positioning of our brand “Aelia Duty Free Diplomatic” vs competition



    • Contribute to the design of the loyalty program launched in 2020 granting promotions, exclusive offers and services to customers according to their level of purchases



    • Get a full understanding of our customers’needs and their shopping behaviours



    • Analyse individual shopping patterns and make customized recommendations



    • Monitor customer service department. Address customer complaints



    • Recruit new customers in the diplomatic community



    • Conduct Market research, competition watch. Monitor customers’ database



    • Carry out online surveys, customers Interviews




 


Communication plan





    • Promote our brand “Aelia Duty Free Diplomatic” and welcome all customers with a high class service standard and answer their queries



    • Develop a “concierge” service



    • Secure positive reputation through the development of our presence in social media and in blogs about our offer, services and events



    • Post content on our website and blog



    • Increase our visibility within the diplomatic community collaborating with conference centers, international organisations, public structures promoting International Geneva, etc



    • Produce leaflets, brochures, catalogues and other advertising support



    • Implement marketing campaigns in store



    • Work in close collaboration with the local Marketing department to develop content




 


Events





    • Organize the shop inauguration event inviting all key stakeholders (customs, organizations, missions, etc) and VIP customers



    • Participate to networking events to promote our brand



    • Arrange exclusive privileges and exceptional events for our VIP clientele with our brand partners




 


 


 Digital strategy





    • Set up a digital strategy over the next 3 years including website, social media, blog in line with budget objectives



    • Work with a design agency to set up the website if needed



    • Track and manage the “Aelia Duty Free Diplomatic” brand on social media. Bolster the number of followers and find influencers to promote the brand




 


Customs regulations and compliance





    • Comply with the customs regulations regarding store access control and limited duty free goods allowances per customer. Inform customers about the rules



    • Demonstrate an ethical behaviour in line with the Lagardère “Compliance program”




 


Key Performance Indicator’s





    • Compliance with deadlines and budgets



    • Sales KPIs :Traffic growth, average purchase



    • Customers insights



    • ROI of specific events and marketing campaigns



    • Number of followers on social media, ratings, reviews monitoring




 


 


Skills, Knowledge and Experience required





    • University degree in General Administration, Communication, International relations, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. 



    • Work experience in retail



    • We value experience in International organisations, permanent missions



    • Workplace management (Office 365, Windows 10…)



    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills



    • Strong autonomy and initiative



    • Organisational and time management skills



    • Creativity, innovation spirit and ability to think out of the box



    • Languages: fluency in English and French is required (oral and written). Russian, Arabic and Chinese are a plus.




 


Work Environment


The diplomatic duty free store is located at Avenue de France 27, 1202 Genève.


Travels to Bern might be required.

Profil minimum requis :
  • University degree in General Administration, Communication, International relations, or a related field from an accredited academic institution
  • Work experience in retail
  • We value experience in International organisations, permanent missions
  • Languages: fluency in English and French is required (oral and written). Russian, Arabic and Chinese are a plus
