Laboratory Technician (Biomechanics)

The Clinic of Masticatory Disorders and Dental Biomaterials focuses its research, teaching and clinical activities in the following areas: experimental and clinical research in the field of orofacial pain, as well as normal function and dysfunction of the temporomandibular joints; offering an interdisciplinary consultation for the diagnosis and treatment of persistent oral and maxillofacial pain and temporomandibular joint disorders; supervision of master's students and doctoral students. The interdisciplinary team currently comprises 20 people.

Your responsibilities
- Participation in innovative research projects in the field of orofacial biomechanics and treatment of patients with orofacial pain
- Recruiting and scheduling experimental subjects
- Participation in experimental acquisition of motion and imaging data from study participants
- Data management, process, and reporting using licenced as well as self-developed software
- Assist in the technical development of new items or processes for use in research and teaching
- Maintenance of the data workflow (data preparation, documentation of interventions, standard operating procedure manuals, archive)
- Maintenance and inventory of laboratory equipment
- Assistance in the supervision of master theses and dissertations
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Human Movement Science, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of biomechanical principles, motion-capture, biomedical imaging, and related processing software
- Very good IT skills and experience with various programs and systems (MS Office, spreadsheets, MATLAB, Phyton)
- Knowledge in biomedical imaging and experience with imaging software (e.g. Amira, 3D-Slicer)
- Practical experience in data management and data processing
- Familiarity with the dental digital workflow is a plus
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and creative interface with experts from different areas (dentistry, medicine, engineering)
