R&D Engineer - Customer Projects Leader

Responsibilities
Objective
To develop new custom products in the domain of electro-mechanical systems and manage the corresponding development projects
- Product development tasks: Design proposals; performing calculations; creation of parts and assembly drawings, overseeing prototyping and manufacturing activities, analysis of tests results, optimization of product design from a technical, manufacturing and logistics point of view, implementation of modification requests (both within and outside the framework of customer projects)
- Project management tasks: Manages the interface with Sales and Customers through all the phases of the project, from start to finish; actively participates to and drives the technical discussions with the customer in order to clarify the technical requirements; monitors the project status in terms of timeline and costs and takes responsibility for fulfilling the project goals in terms of quality, cost, timeline and deliverables; responsible for the creation and continuous update of project documentation, as well for internal reporting and communication to the Management; responsibility for coordinating the activities of all internal departments involved in the project (Industrial Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Finance, Production, Logistics, Planning)
- Supports the Application Engineering department and Sales by providing feedback to technical inquiries and attending customer meetings (also outside the scope of development projects)
- Contributes to the improvement of our Quality Management System
Your Profile
- University Education in Engineering (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Robotics, ...)
- Strong multi-disciplinary technical background (mechanics, thermal management, electromagnetism, electronics)
- Proven experience in of product development (5 years)
- Direct experience in development of electromechanical or mechatronics devices is a plus
- Experience with Siemens NX CAD system is a plus
- Previous project management experience (3 years), with focus on direct contacts with external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, ...) and coordination of internal tasks across multiple departments
- Italian mother tongue, Fluent in English
- The knowledge of French and German is considered a plus
- Strong team spirit, collaborative attitude is a must
- Methodic and creative approach to problem solving
- Very good communication skills
