The Analytical Development (AD) Department develops, transfers and validates various release, stability and product characterization test methods. It performs API characterization, comparability and stability studies, provides analytical support for process development activities and manages reference materials.

Main Responsibilities

The scope of this AD (Associate) Scientist position is to support the existing Molecular & Bio Assays team in diverse activities, ranging from assay development and optimization in the lab, to writing test instructions, study plans and reports, to planning and execution of test method transfer/validation and training activities.

  • Development, transfer and qualification/validation of molecular and bio-analytical assays, e.g. ELISA, qPCR, Flow Cytometry, capillary Western (WES), SDS-PAGE/Immunoblot, cGE, cIEF, BiaCore, Threshold etc.
  • Working with DNA/RNA, proteins, viruses, cells. From sample preparation to analysis and data treatment
  • Writing of test instructions/protocols for methods in scope
  • Writing of development, qualification and validation plans and reports
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment and operation of analytical and other instruments
  • Execution of assigned scientific experiments and writing tasks with limited level of supervision
  • Review of scientific work in project-related fields and areas of expertise
  • Ensuring availability of adequate laboratory materials and equipment
  • Active collaboration and interaction with various team leaders, scientists and laboratory technicians and across departments
  • Support of quality investigations


Who we are looking for

  • Minimal MSc level in biology, biochemistry or related field of study
  • Scientific background with a mindset for analysis, interpretation and reporting of scientific results
  • Excellent oral and writing skills for scientifically sound technical documents and presentation of scientific data
  • Independent way of working and taking ownership of assigned tasks to plan and deliver according to project timelines
  • Your team spirit allows you to integrate easily into an existing, dedicated team in a multicultural environment
  • Practical knowledge of ELISA, qPCR, Flow Cytometry will be a plus
  • Experience with GMP is a plus
  • Very good command of English, German is an asset
