Job description:

 

Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International GmbH (PWAEI) is an international aerospace company headquartered in Luzern, Switzerland, and a wholly owned subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).  PWAEI is collaborating with three other aerospace companies as part of IAE International Aero Engines AG (IAE), to produce and maintain the V2500 commercial aircraft engine, which powers the Airbus A320 family of aircraft.

 

The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a Quality Management System at PWAEI to ensure product and process integrity satisfying IAE and FAA/EASA Regulatory authorities.  This individual also functions as the PWAEI V2500 Engine Program Quality Manager as the primary Quality Assurance focal point to IAE.   In this role, participation on multidiscipline IAE Party Company Teams to resolve issues associated with engine/component design, production hardware, aftermarket support, and Airframer/Airline Customer support is required.  This position is located at PWAEI headquarters in Luzern, Switzerland, and reports to the Managing Director of PWAEI.

 

Areas of responsibility include:

 

  • Lead PWAEI’s Quality Team

  • Lead PWAEI’s Continuous Improvement Program (ACE)

  • Provide quality oversite of the PWAEI portion of V2500 Engine Program

  • Provide program quality oversight of the PWAEIS European Logistics Center in the Netherlands

  • Maintain and ensure compliance to the PWAEI Management System Manual and EN9100

  • Manage quality issues with customers/partners/suppliers;

  • Oversight of the Material Review Board process.

  • Approve and ensure compliance to all Quality Plans established with IAE,  and key PWAEI partners/suppliers

  • Represent PWAEI at IAE Quality Assurance Management Meetings

  • Manage a PWAEI audit program for internal processes, product hardware, service providers, and suppliers

  • Manage effective metrics that monitor PWAEI’s quality performance to established IAE and/or Airframer performance agreements

  • PWAEI Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT) Member

  • PWAEI Industrial Council Member

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or other related field

  • 10+ years of practical experience in Quality Assurance systems

  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement programs – (official certifications a plus)

  • EN9100 or ISO9001 knowledge

  • Knowledge of and experience with Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and Europe Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) processes and regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with an international workforce

  • Fluency in English language; verbal and written.

  • German language desired.

  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • An adaptable, friendly and team focused individual

  • Strong leadership and decision making skills

  • Self-confident and capable of undertaking new challenging assignments

  • Interest in working in an international environment with cross-culture appreciation

 

Other Qualifications and Information:

 

  • Travel required within Europe, and other locations as required
