Founded in 1924, the Foundation of the International School of Geneva, commonly known as Ecolint educates 4500 students aged from 3-18 representing over 130 nationalities. To complete our team, we are looking for a:

Finance and Support Functions Director

Reports to: The Director General

Work percentage: full time

Main responsibilities:

To have primary reporting responsibility to the Director General for the overall financial management of the Foundation (comprising three campuses), its financial resources and the main support services (IT, Development and alumni relations, Admissions and extracurricular activities) in order that the objectives of the Foundation can be achieved.

1. To produce timely, relevant and accurate financial information; to monitor financial

performance; to provide sound financial advice and an effective financial management service to the Director General (DG) and the Governing Board (GB). S/he may also be delegated to interact with the Ecolint leadership team (ELT), relevant staff across the Foundation and vendors.

2. As a member of the ELT, to play a key role in the diligent, prudent and successful financial management and strategic development of the Foundation. To oversee all financial planning, budgeting and forecasting including the capital programme. To play a leading role in the financial negotiation and execution of contracts and commercial commitments.

3. To lead and manage the Finance team and the Directors/leads of the main Support Services department : IT, Development and alumni relations, Admissions and extracurricular activities.

4. To safeguard and maximise the value and use of the Foundation's assets and ensure they are used to best effect in pursuing the Foundation's aims and objectives, benefiting the community.

5. To oversee the successful application of and compliance with the Foundation's

Financial Terms and Conditions to maximise student enrolment while ensuring timely fee payments. To work closely together with the Head of Admissions, to develop Cooperation agreements and effective relations with companies, international organisations and parents.

6. To work closely with the Director of People and Culture, under the overall guidance of the DG, to articulate and implement the Ecolint People Plan, build sustainable relationships with

stakeholders including the Staff Association according to the letter and the spirit of the CCT.

7. To support the work of the foundation and school campuses, under the overall guidance of the DG, in generating and managing all other sources of income other than school fees.

8. To work with the Development Director, to ensure the successful development and execution of fundraising strategy in line with objectives set by the Governing Board.

9. To coordinate and lead, where appropriate, in the negotiation and management of contracts for the supply of external services to the Foundation, including but not limited

to utilities, insurance, student transportation and cafeteria services.

10. To ensure that the Foundation complies with its legal and constitutional obligations (federal, cantonal and communal), including the identification and management of financial and other risks of those areas of the Foundation for which s/he is responsible.

Profile:

1. Attainment/ Qualifications

Essential: University graduate; certified accountant or equivalent professional qualification.

2. Previous experience

Essential: Several years of demonstrable success in financial management at a senior level of a comparably sized organisation.

Evidence of contributing successfully to an organisation at a strategic level and managing change.

Demonstrable experience as an effective communicator and collaborator with a track record in developing and maintaining financial and management information systems.

Evidence of a successful track record in leading, motivating and developing teams and individuals and managing performance.

Desirable: Experience of working in a senior position in Suisse romande

Reporting to and working with voluntary committee and board members.

3. Disposition and attributes

Essential: Fluent French and English speaker

Excellent interpersonal skills, able to relate well at all levels

Good negotiation skills

Disposed to provide good customer care

Analytical and problem-solving ability

Able to show initiative, be proactive, plan, take responsibility and develop systems while assuring compliance with agreed procedures

Mature and emotionally resilient

Trustworthy and able to work confidentially

Desirable An interest in and support for international education.
