Application Engineer

To support our continued growth in Switzerland and across the DACH region, we are looking for an Application Engineer (m/f/d) with strong expertise in Electronic Data Capture (EDC) and eCRF design. Additional knowledge of LIMS environments is highly valued, as this role bridges clinical research and laboratory operations.
In this position, you will act as a key interface between clients and technology, translating clinical study requirements into efficient digital solutions. You will work closely with international customers as well as our internal product teams.
This is a hybrid role combining remote work with on-site client activities. Candidates must be based in Switzerland, as the position includes regular on-site presence and occasional travel within Switzerland and abroad.
- German: mandatory (native-level or fully fluent, spoken and written)
- English: mandatory (professional working proficiency )
- French or Italian is an advantage
- Degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Biotechnology, Medical Engineering, Bioinformatics) or comparable qualification
- Experience or hands-on exposure to EDC and eCRF design in clinical trial environments
- Basic understanding of LIMS systems in laboratory or research settings
- Good understanding of data and process flows in clinical studies
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Confident, customer-oriented approach in regulated and international environments
- Strong interest in software solutions and digital transformation in healthcare
- Analyze clinical study processes and translate them into EDC configurations and eCRF concepts and designs
- Design, build, and maintain eCRFs, including fields, validations, and edit checks
- Support study configuration from requirements analysis through go-live
- Configure and optimize study workflows in line with real operational processes
- Deliver system demonstrations and support pre-sales activities and solution design
- Plan and conduct user training and provide application support (remote and on-site)
- Participate in system testing, UAT, validation, and quality assurance activities
- Provide operational support in the study environment, including study setup, user management, and data management
- Be involved in LIMS-related processes
- Collect customer feedback to support continuous improvement of eCRF structures and system functionality
- Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and validation materials
