M&A Lawyer - Oil & gas industry - Geneva (m/f) 100%

For one of our client, we are looking for an experienced and international M&A Lawyer.
Well known company within the oil & gas industry.
The company is based in Geneva.
Description
As a crucial member of the M&A legal team, you will play a key role in supporting the M&A business team regarding investment and divestment opportunities.
This position will directly report to the Global Head of M&A with a global coverage scope.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- overseeing the legal aspects of the deal execution process
- covering activities such as Request for Proposals (RFPs), due diligence, transaction documentation, closing procedures, and post-deal monitoring.
- Collaboration with various departments and teams, such as finance, tax, and compliance, will be essential to gather pertinent information for transaction evaluation and execution.
Profile
The preferred candidate should possess approximately 5-7 years of qualified experience within an M&A legal team, having worked in either private practice or an in-house setting.
An experience working within a magic circle / top tier law firm is mandatory.
Experience in the natural resources, oil and gas, or utilities sector is desirable.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate autonomy in project work.
Also required for the role:
- Proficiency in reviewing, negotiating, and drafting M&A-related legal documents such as SPAs, JVAs, etc.
- Competence in managing due diligence, signing, and closing processes, while providing advisory support to internal counterparts.
- Preference for exposure to the natural resources, oil and gas, or utilities sector.
- Capability to oversee external legal counsels
- Independence in project management, including the ability to gather necessary inputs from various sources, including other departments, the Portfolio/M&A business team, traders, and external counterparts.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks and prioritize for optimal outcomes.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, meeting tight deadlines.
- Motivated, reliable and self-starter; team player with a positive and entrepreneurial attitude.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Fluent in English, additional languages (e.g. French) useful;
- Flexibility to travel (10-20% of time, potentially on short notice.
