We are currently seeking a detail-oriented person with strong programming skills to manage and maintain our web-based experiment platform used for cognitive science experiments and classroom self-assessments.
Our team utilizes a web-based platform to conduct cognitive science experiments and provide classroom self-assessments. The role of Web-based Experiment Platform Manager is essential in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of this platform. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing this platform, supporting our ongoing initiatives in cognitive science research and education.
As the Web-based Experiment Platform Manager, you will oversee the operations of the web-based experiment platform, ensuring smooth performance and execution of cognitive science experiments and self-assessments. Your role will involve organizing, extracting, and analyzing results from the experiments conducted on the platform. Using our semi-automated Adobe InDesign pipeline, you will create comprehensive, accurate reports for classroom self-assessments. Another key aspect of your role will be to adapt existing experimental tasks and develop new ones to meet the changing needs of our research and teaching initiatives. Furthermore, you will maintain a dedicated server to ensure the smooth functioning of the experiment platform.
The ideal candidate for this role will bring a blend of essential technical skills, preferred skills, and alignment with our core competencies.
Essential Skills:
- You should possess proficiency in front-end programming languages, notably JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with back-end programming languages, particularly JavaScript and Python, will be highly advantageous.
- We are looking for someone with the ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- A high degree of attention to detail is a crucial requirement for this role.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience working with Adobe InDesign will be highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of Node.js, MongoDB, Pandas, Docker, and R would add value to your application.
- We would prefer if you have had experience with Linux server administration, specifically RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
