From January until December 2024 (12 months) we are looking for a communications officer who will work closely with the Head of Communications in Switzerland and others to assist with the delivery of the communications strategy for Switzerland.

Your key responsibilities 

  • Work on communications projects and campaigns to support the goals of the Swiss and Group communications strategy.
  • Support with the development of content (e.g., articles, videos, factsheets) for various channels, including glencore.ch, social media, intranet, events, and third-party publications.
  • Manage the Switzerland-related social media activities of Glencore (organic and paid) in close collaboration with our external suppliers and the Group’s social media team.
  • Maintain the Swiss website and support with Glencore’s global website.
  • Support the Communications team where necessary, e.g,. with the preparation of presentations, the reviewal of statements and quotes.
  • Review German translations and assist coordinating review processes when necessary.

The ideal candidate 

  • Is a native (Swiss) German speaker with advanced verbal and writing skills in German and English (corporate language).
  • Is facts-oriented while being able to communicate complex topics in a clear, engaging and nuanced manner.
  • Is highly motivated, works effeciently, and a strong team player.
  • Has proven organisational and planning skills, attention to detail and is solution-oriented.
  • Is comfortable working on several projects at the same time.
  • Can adapt quickly to new situations and work under tight deadlines.
  • Is open to other people’s points of view and able take on feedback.
  • Ideally worked in an international and dynamic environment before.

Qualifications and experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in communications; especially in copywriting respectevly journalism.
  • Experience in social media management and content development (organic and paid); especially for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X.
  • Effective management of administrative tasks and projects.
  • Experience with building content in a CMS (e.g. Magnolia) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with graphic tools, such as Photoshop and InDesign, is an advantage.
