Global Strategic Insights Director


Your tasks and responsibilities:

Are you a professional in Strategic Insights with experience in the Consumer Health or FMCG industry? Do you want to drive the business and support the organization's strategic and operational decision-making with Insights, turning the Strategic Insights team into an Insights Powerhouse ("go to department")? As Global Strategic Insights Director youwill have a particular focus on driving cross-brand/country category learnings and will work on three Consumer Health categories. You will supervise a team of 3 and report into the Global Head of Marketing/Media Excellence and Strategic Insights Consumer Health. Main tasks will be:

  • Work closely with the Global Category Teams (GCTs) providing strategically relevant information, insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Own the holistic business insight process related to the issue/opportunity, including communicating the 'what' and the 'why'.
  • Ensure your team is working closely with other internal departments (Marketing, I&D, LMR, Finance, Customer Excellence, NRM), ad agencies, and external data & research vendors to ensure the most holistic and fact-based decision making possible.
  • Establishyourself and the respective team as a trusted strategic partner to the marketing teams, especially the GCTs, Global Category Business Unit heads and global powerbrand community teams.
  • Ensure that key marketing activities are grounded in a fact-based understanding of the market, the consumer & the customer.

    Who you are:
  • Master's degree required, preferably in Psychology or Marketing/Marketing Research. MBA
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in Market Research with the following specific experience:
    • Min. 10 years of hands-on primary research experience
    • Min. 5 years of hands-on secondary research experience
    • Min. 4 years in a market research agency
    • Min. 6 years on the client side
    • Min. 4 years of experience leading market research teams
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills including motivating teams
  • Ability to give clear guidance to teams and to make fact-based strategic choices
  • Strong knowledge of Research design and statistics required
  • Experience/familiarity with Syndicated sales and consumer data (IRI, AC Nielsen/IMS, Mintel, Euromonitor, Nicholas Hall, GfK/TNS panel data etc.)
  • Experience in marketing (either through direct work experience or by longstanding close working relationship with marketing peers)
  • Consumer package goods experience is preferred
  • Must be highly analytical with strategic mindset
  • Proven track record of convincing Management to act upon key research learnings
  • Familiar with working internationally, ideally also in emerging markets
  • Multilingual preferred
